How to Install Kodi on Amazon Fire TV Stick with no PC
By default the Amazon Fire TV stick does not permit you to install applications from third party developers that are not on the Google Play store. To install Kodi on Amazon Firestick we have to enable this feature. Navigate to Settings on the left hand menu and then navigate down to Developer Options as shown in the image below.
Once in the Developer Options menu select
Device and go down to the option
Apps from Unknown Sources. Select it to switch it on. Once this feature is enabled your Amazon Fire TV stick is ready to install third party applications. [Read: How to Play Games on Kodi]
Installing ES File Explorer
In order to install Kodi on Amazon Firestick without a PC we require a file management tool on our Amazon Fire TV stick device. ES File Explorer is the perfect solution for us to use Kodi on Firestick and is free to download. On the Fire Stick home screen scroll down to
Search on the left hand menu and enter the letters
ES. A number of application options will now be displayed.
Select ES Explorer and then
click on Install as shown in the screenshot below. ES File Explorer will now start to download and once complete it will install onto your Fire Stick.
When the ES File Explorer installation is complete we need to add the Kodi download page as a favorite. Launch ES File Explorer and navigate to
Favorites on the left hand menu.
Select Add and a new popup window will appear to enter your new favorite. For the Path
enter https://www.kodi.tv/download and for the Name
enter Kodi. Once you have entered both details

Install Kodi On Amazon Fire TV Stick
On the left hand menu of ES Explorer
navigate to Favorites and
select the Kodi favorite that you have just created. The Kodi download page will appear on the right hand side of your screen. This next part is a little tricky. Using your remote
navigate to the latest ARM Android Release build as shown in the image below. I have underlined the option you need in red. [Read: How to Setup TV Shows in Kodi]
When you click on the latest build it will appear as if nothing has happened but ES Explorer will get this file ready for download in the background. To begin the download
select the More option at the bottom right hand corner of the screen and then

A popup will appear entitled Open with. Select
ES Downloader from the available options. You will now see the progress window as your download begins. Once the download is complete you will asked what you want to do with the file.
Select Open File and then
Install. Kodi will now ask you if you would like to install the application and tell you what it will require access to in order to proceed.
Click on Install and within 5 minutes you will have the latest release build and can use Kodi on Firestick. Enjoy!
