Not only is Kodi the most feature rich media center software solution out there but it is also the most customisable. Kodi allows you to download and install skins which are different themes for the software. A skin contains the menu layout, background images, options you see and sometimes new features. A skin can change both how your HTPC looks and how it behaves. In this post we will show you how to install Kodi skins onto your system. This can either be from zip file or from a repository. We will show you the full change Kodi skin process allowing you to deploy a skin that suites you. Video tutorials are shown at the end of this post.

How to Install Kodi Skins – Change Kodi Layout
In this post we will be using Kodi 17 Krypton with the default Estuary skin installed. Different skins offer different features and if you want to change Kodi layout you need to download and install a new skin. We will show you how to install Kodi skin from zip file and how to navigate a repository to find them online. Please ensure that you backup your PC or TV box prior to implementing this guide. Install Kodi Skin from Zip Files & Repositories
To install Kodi skins
select addons from the left hand menu. Kodi skins are in the form of addon packages and when you install them they deploy both the skin itself and any additional addons that are required by it. [Read: Arctic Zephyr Install: Arctic Zephyr Kodi Skin for Elegance]
Select the open box shape at the top of the left menu. This is where you head to install new addons with Kodi and browse the many available in the repositories. [Read: Estuary Mod Skin Install from the Guilouz Repository]
You will now be at the Kodi Add-on browser screen shown below. You have two main options here to locate and install Kodi skins. If you want to install Kodi skin from zip
select the 4th option. This will bring up a file browser allowing you can navigate down to the location of your Kodi skin. If you would like to browse the selection of skins that are available in the official Kodi repository

Find Skins in the Repositories
When you are presented with your repository options
select the Kodi repository. The majority of repositories follow a set naming convention and skins tend to be in the same place. Navigate to:
Look and feel > Skins
The Official Kodi Repo has a large number of available skins to download. In this guide we will install the Revolve Kodi skin.
Navigate to the skin you would like and hit return. You will then be presented with the skins information page. This gives you a little detail about what the skin has to offer and its developer.

When the install is complete you will receive a notification saying “Would you like to switch to this skin?”

Change Kodi Skin – Switch to Installed Skins
You may not want to download and install Kodi skins. You may simply want to browse skins that are already installed on your system. To do this
select the settings cog once again at the top of the left hand menu. Next
select Interface settings as shown in the image below.
The first item in the Interface settings menu is Skin and you will see all skin settings. On the right side if you
select Skin you can browse through all of the skins you have installed. Simply
